Richard is the founder of Winnellie Hydraulics which he started in 1983 when he was 25 years old. We started with a 1964 EH Holden Station Wagon in a small workshop on Witte Street in Winnellie. Richard is a fitter and turner by trade and specialises in hydraulics.
We both grew up in Melbourne but left to travel around Australia and never completed our trip. We have been in Darwin for 37 years.
We love boating, fishing, traveling and spending time with our family and friends.
After working for 33 years with very few holidays, we took off in our boat to Thailand with our families consent.
We took the gamble and left the business with our only son, Max. Winnellie Hydraulics now has a board room, a fleet of vehicles, our own personalised delivery truck and the most professional team of staff we could ask for. Max has transformed everything and brought the business into the next generation and we couldn’t be more proud.
